I can’t say enough great things about Gilroy Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. My wife trained here years ago and always encouraged me to give it a try. I kept putting it off, hesitant to start something new later in life, but I’m so glad I finally did. From the very first day, I was welcomed like family. The coaches and students are professional, supportive, and incredibly encouraging. They go out of their way to make sure you not only learn but also feel comfortable and motivated. Having wrestled throughout my academic career, I missed the competitive, physical side of training, but I hadn’t found anything that clicked for me again—until now. Training here has been one of the best experiences of my life. Every class leaves me challenged, inspired, and eager to come back. I’m absolutely hooked and truly grateful for the community at Gilroy Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
I started going to Gilroy BJJ in 2018 and got a solid two years in before covid hit. Thanks covid. I was fortunate enough to start back up again after restrictions lightened up in early 2022 and had the opportunity to return, this time with my young kids. I absolutely had the bug and wanted to keep learning and improving. Besides that, it gives me the opportunity to do something additional with my kiddos. Gilroy BJJ has a great group of people from all walks of life. The people are nice, and the instructors are top-notch. I really have nothing else to compare to, but if it ain't broke... don't fix it, right? The classes are fun and tough at the same time. BJJ is super humbling. I thought I was in great shape and strong enough to handle myself until my instructor, smaller than me, tossed me around like a rag doll. I'm not going to lie... it had and still has me fascinated. Some of those moves looked like and still look like magic. How di
Our family absolutely loves this jiu-jitsu gym! All three of my kids attend, and the growth we’ve seen has been amazing. The coaches are patient, encouraging, and truly great with kids. My children have learned so much—not just jiu-jitsu techniques, but also discipline, respect, and teamwork. They’re always excited to go to class and leave feeling proud of themselves. The environment is positive, safe, and supportive, which means a lot as a parent. I highly recommend this gym to any family looking to build these skills!
