I've been training at Gracie Barra Rohnert Park for over seven years. This is an excellent family oriented Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu academy. I love the training and the comradery with the great group of people that train here. Head instructor Rich is very knowledgeable about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu and a smart and funny guy. The coaches are very knowledgeable and passionate about Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu. The facility is large, clean, and well maintained. Come check it out!
This is by far the best academy I have trained at so far. Professor Aparecido is extremely knowledgeable in BJJ and is very dedicated to helping his students to become the very best they are capable of being. He goes above and beyond to help his Jujitsu family. All of the coaches are highly qualified, extremely helpful and will answer any questions you have about a technique. I trained at Gracie Barra Rohnert Park for 2.5 years and noticed a huge boost in my confidence, not only in my physical fitness level but also my everyday life. All the students are very friendly, which makes training even more fun. As soon as I move back to Sonoma County I will continue training here. I highly recommend this academy to anyone interested in just checking out jujitsu and especially to those who are seriously committed to it.
Gracie Barra Rohnert Park has a great family atmosphere. Besides the great Instructor in Professor Bill, he has TOP NOTCH Coaches who truly love BJJ and it shows when they teach. Aside from the awesome training I have received, one thing that I take the most out of belonging to GBRP is the friendships and relationships I have made along the way. The people who train here have ZERO ego and they are ALL always willing to help the old guy (me) out and put up with my slow going journey. Brazilian Jiu Jitsu is more than a martial art, it's a way of life and everyone I have come across during my time at GBRP has had quite an influence on me in one way or another. If you are like I was before, afraid to try something new, or feeling intimidated by others who have been doing the sport for a while, don't be. There is no better environment than GBRP! Guaranteed!
I started training here about 3 years ago. I absolutely love it. It has improved every aspect of my life. Gracie Barra is the premier academy in Northern California. If you have any interest it checking out a class give us a call! intro classes are free and it is an incredibly friendly and welcoming academy. If you have any desire to check out JiuJitsu my recommendation is don't worry about people being to rough or anything like that.... it's not like that way. Wonderful Professor! great instructors and coaches! it is an egoless enviroment that you will enjoy :)
My boys have been learning at GBRP for 2 years and they love the classes. The kid's classes are really the best I've seen. They have multiple coaches on the mat in every class. The approach to the kids is superb. They treat the kids like people and not income. All of the coaches, including Professor Bill, are very accessible. I really have been impressed with the culture at GBRP and plan to start training myself very soon. You will not be disappointed once you decide to start.
Likes: A welcoming environment, people who want to make me better at BJJ (professors/coaches/fellow students), and having fun while doing it, as opposed to being the latest mat fodder for upper belts. Dislikes: I didn’t come here looking for a community to join or to make new friends or to improve my life, I was simply looking for a place to do BJJ with my son. However, this is a special place that has a way of making me feel like I belong. I often drive over an hour (passing other BJJ academies along the way) to go specifically here, because GBRP just feels right. Almost against my will, GBRP found me…and I don’t like it…I love it.
