Carson Gracie Riverside is a great dojo for both jiu-jitsu and Muay Thai. Coach Tony and Coach Courtney are wonderful with the little kids—very patient, encouraging, and consistent. They do a great job balancing kindness with structure. When they set expectations or rules, they follow through with consequences like push-ups or sitting with a parent, which helps create consistency and accountability. At the same time, they’re thoughtful and flexible in how they approach discipline for kids with special needs. My child was initially very fearful and hesitant about joining, but with encouragement and support from the lead coaches, he gradually became more comfortable. Now he genuinely looks forward to going and even gets upset if he has to miss class. Since starting here, I’ve noticed a positive change in my child’s focus, discipline, and confidence, and those skills are carrying over into school and other activities as well. I highly reco
My family and I have been members of this gym since 2020. My boys started in both the kids Muay Thai and the Jiu Jitsu programs. After a couple years my husband and I also began training, now our whole family train and compete in Jiu Jitsu! The instructors are not only knowledgeable and passionate but the gym community is friendly and invested in the improvement of each other.
This review should have been done a long time ago! Years of being here and the best in the area! The whole family is here and everyone loves it. Coaching staff is amazing and they are always supporting competitions. The environment and culture here is like no other creating a beautiful community. We are not just training partners but a family that enjoys our time on the mats! This school has allowed me to grow mentally and physically as I continue to get older. Highly recommend signing up and joining the Carlson gracie family!
My son is 11 years old. Very shy and good hearted kid. He used to get bullied, but it all changed. He is being taught by coach Merrill, coach Tony, coach Sean and coach Adrian...... best coaching staff ever! My son is gaining confidence and is learning how to defend himself and I couldn't feel happier. Thanks alot coaches for changing my son's life 👍👍👍
BE AWARE of Coach Kamm!! I’m giving 5 stars because it seems to be a great establishment. I’m writing this review to give a warning about Coach Kammm, any gym willing to allow her to step foot into their establishment needs to be careful. She’s been kicked out of multiple gyms. She took payments from clients and didn’t always deliver and would act funny when clients would ask for a refund.. amongst other shady conduct. Don’t fall for the social media hype. People like her need to be exposed. “The People’s Coach” 🙄🙄🙄
It’s a great place to train for the whole family. The schedule fits for kids and adults. I love the different martial arts that are taught. From beginner to someone who has experience on the mats, there’s something for everyone. Amazing gym.
