Hands down, one of the best decisions we’ve made for our family! Acima Jiu Jitsu Checkmat Riverside has been a game - changer for us. The Professors and Coaches are phenomenal - not only incredibly skilled, but also patient, kind, and so encouraging. You can tell they truly care about every student on the mat, from the tiniest beginner to the most seasoned athlete. The growth we’ve seen -both physically and mentally - has been amazing. Acima is a great place to trian!!! After training at another place for over 3 years, I decided it was time for a change. Best decision I ever made for my kids, ever since we joined Acima jiu-jitsu my kids have improved so much! The training at Acima jiu-jitsu took my kids to a totally different level, having professors like (head professor) John, Paulo, Pete and all the coaches that teach here are all at a high-level!!!
Absolutely love this place for my kids! They have gained so much confidence in the short amount of time of being here and look forward to it every week. Coach Vince is playful but firm with the kids, which has really taught them to have fun and be respectful all at the same time. It took my kids a couple classes to open up so if your kids don't like it after say one, don't give up! It's so different from most sports so it may take them awhile to get comfortable with rough housing. Now my girly daughter rolls with boys and girls of different ages and loves every minute of it
My husband, and both kids have been here for a few months now, all the staff are amazing! Their schedule is so accommodating and they’re great with kids with special needs. After visiting other gyms, their teaching culture and values are unmatched.
