The positive experience my entire family has had at DŌ Jiu Jitsu is simply unmatched. From the moment we walked through the doors the coaches made us feel welcome and like a priority. In addition to supporting our goals in Jiu Jitsu, the academy has supported our overall development on and off the mats. The structure and discipline instilled by the academy rolls over into all aspects of our lives. If you are looking for a good work out, great people and a safe place to learn and grow DŌ Jiu Jitsu is the place for you. Thank you to the entire team of coaches for such an amazing experience.
Knowing now how much my kids love jiu-jitsu and how much value they get from the classes, my only regret is not signing them up sooner. I have seen my kids' confidence greatly improve, as well as their ability to focus, follow directions, and socialize with other kids. The coaches always set a great example for the kids by showing up to class with positive energy. I am so happy that my kids are not just learning jiu-jitsu and how to handle tough situations, but also the skills they need to succeed in life.
I absolutely love these classes for my 7yr old son, and he loves it big time. Not only do the coaches teach him all the cool moves but, they also teach them the things in life that are so important. Like respect, working together for the team, how to be a good listener and how to follow directions,. Any time I am having some difficulty with my little guy with whatever they will pull them to the side and talk to in ways that they can understand. The coaches are absolutely awesome and I am so glad I got my son enrolled here. I highly recommend the GracieJujitsu classes for anyone that has a child or children to start asap. Oh and 1 more thing my son has ADHD and they are amazing at teaching him to focus and to stay on task which is extremely hard for him but when the coaches talk to him he gets it and really does his best. First of all, never did I ever think I would sign up for Jiu-Jitsu. I am a very shy and soft-spoken person. In fact, the first time I tried class I was super nervous. That being said, I had no idea how much benefit I would actually get from taking the classes. Not only did I get in better shape, but my confidence has increased a ton! I find it a lot easier to maintain eye contact and interact with people I just met. Learning the techniques and being able to execute them is very exciting! The coaches are amazing at explaining the techniques and being patient with you if you don't get it the first time or the 10th time. 😄 I highly recommend literally everyone to come to Gracie Jiu-Jitsu Downtown Modesto and get on the mat!🥋🤙🏻
We decided to give Moore's a try after moving to the area. It was highly rated and had a great offer to test out how compatible it would be with our son. We were sold the first week! The atmosphere is great, full of positive people and supportive, friendly parents. Even though karate is a personal practice (everyone is on their own journey!) Bryce has done an awesome job of creating a team among the kids. He's a wonderful instructor and the kids obviously love and respect him for it, making it easy to feel part of the Moore's family. My son looks forward to class and loves practicing at home. We appreciate that they work in integrity lessons and encourage the kids to be kind but firm with their bodies and words. We will be here for years to come and will sign up our younger child when she is ready!
I train here with my daughters and we’ve all really fallen in love with this place. The coaches are awesome — super knowledgeable and passionate about what they do. The adult classes are intense in the best way, always pushing you to grow, but it never feels overwhelming or unwelcoming. What I really appreciate is the vibe. Everyone is respectful, helpful, and there’s a real sense of community. My daughters are learning a ton and gaining confidence, and I’m constantly challenged and improving too. It’s just a great spot to train, learn, and be part of something solid. Highly recommend it to anyone thinking about jumping into BJJ.
