I have had an excellent experience with this studio--not just for my kids--but I also enjoyed attending Eldred's when I was their age. My two kids were 5 and 10 when they started and stayed enrolled for almost 3 years. The only reason we are not currently attending is due to location. Our family recently relocated but if we find ourselves back in the Escondido area we will re-enroll. From the stand point of a working mom of 3, a HUGE pro was the schedule! The class times made it a breeze to get them to class. They have classes that accommodate immediately after school up through the early evening (very practical for working families). Also, there are classes available on Saturday mornings which were fun to sit and watch with the other parents. The Tae Kwon Do studio is also very festive! There are always fun offsite picnics in the works, Kona Ice trucks, egg hunts, haunted houses, Santa and even SNOW (yes. Snow. In. Escondido.) :) Lastl
My daughter has been training at this karate center for some time now, and we couldn’t be happier with the experience. She’s currently a blue belt, and the progress she has made—both in skill and confidence—has been amazing to watch. The instructors are hardworking, supportive, and truly dedicated to every student’s growth. They strike a perfect balance between discipline and encouragement, making each class both challenging and enjoyable. The environment is positive, respectful, and motivating, which keeps my daughter excited to come to class each week. I’m so grateful for the effort the teachers put into helping every child reach their potential. I highly recommend this karate center to any parent looking for a place where their child can learn martial arts, build confidence, and develop strong character.
My two eldest children just started at Eldred's in September. This family run Martial Arts studio is so wonderful, that I, as an adult, decided to take classes as well. They are perfectly balanced at teaching technique, the importance of martial arts, safety, fitness and having fun a the same time. My son had gone to other studios and none have compared to Eldred's. Even though they are working hard in class, they want to keep coming back because they are laughing out loud and having so much fun. The different topics that they speak to the children about at the end of every class are exactly what I as a parent want a role model to talk to them about. Safety in all senses. I definitely recommend them to anyone considering marital arts.
I have been attending this dojo for about 8 months. I am in the adult teen class(being the only adult at times) what I really enjoy about this that Ms. Eldred is an awesome instructor. She takes into consideration your limitations if any. She motivates you pushes you not to give up! At the end of class we do a quick lesson in mindfullness. Which is great reminder for all of no matter your age. There is always something new to be learned. I highly recommend for any adults interested to come check it out!
I personally went to this school when I was younger, and I agree with Jenny, I felt belittled. When I went for tests I was always nervous because I knew I would have a hard time moving on if I didn't do it right. I eventually got to a state where I went home frustrated and sad and I ended up quitting. This was hard for me because I am an athlete who doesn't give up on things like this, but it was taking up time where I could be doing something more with other sports rather than feel bad! The instructors are amazing and I loved them, but whenever Randy was there I was nervous. If you want your child to learn this way that is perfectly fine! It is a great school for martial arts. I learned a lot and loved the instructors! I actually followed one of them to a different studio because he was my favorite and was going to be running this studio, and it was much better. But I personally did not enjoy the teaching style at Eldred's. Sorry if th
I have been attending Eldred’s school of martial arts for almost 10 years now and have enjoyed every moment of it. They have taught me that nothing is impossible along with lessons in mindfulness that I will think back on for the rest of my life. They teach primarily taekwondo with backgrounds in aikido, hapkido, judo, and jiujitsu. Because of the Eldred’s there now doesn’t go a day in my life where I don’t think about martial arts or how I can be a better martial artist. My thanks to the Eldred family!
