Absolutely Incredible Experience for My Kids – Best Decision We’ve Made!<br>We’ve been taking our kids to Gracie Jiu Jitsu Mesa for several months now, and I can’t say enough good things about this place. From the very first class, we knew we found something special. The environment is incredibly safe, welcoming, and family-friendly — exactly what every parent hopes for when introducing their children to martial arts.<br>The kids program is outstanding. My children have gained so much confidence, focus, discipline, and respect, both on and off the mat. They’re learning real, practical self-defense skills in a fun, age-appropriate way that keeps them excited to come back every time. As a late 40s newcomer to BJJ, I couldn’t have picked a better gym. All of the instructors I’ve had—Jimi, Larry, and Lasando—have been fantastic. Upper belts are always willing to support, provide tips, and teach technique. It is a great, supportive atmosphere. My only regret is that my schedule doesn’t allow me to take more classes. I can’t recommend enough.<br><br>The gym is clean, and everyone I’ve worked with is friendly and concerned about safety.<br><br>My daughter also attend Women Empowered classes, and she thoroughly enjoys them. She is growing in confidence and describes her instructor and classmates as family.
My son absolutely loves his classes at Gracie Jiu Jitsu in Mesa! Every week he looks forward to going and always comes out with a huge smile, excited to show what he’s learned. The instructors are incredibly patient, positive, and make the environment welcoming for kids of all skill levels.<br><br>We took advantage of their 10-day free trial, which was a huge help in making the decision to sign up. It gave us the chance to see how well the program fit our family without any pressure. After just a couple of classes, we knew this was the right place for him. The instructors here in Mesa are understanding, cordial, and very knowledgeable about the art of Jiu Jitsu.<br>Gracie Jiu Jitsu is hands down the most safe environment for training Brazilian Jiu Jitsu. The community of the gym encourages active learning with a growth mindset and shuns dangerous ego driven characters that would increase risks for injury for its members.<br>I was a bit shocked at the number of high belts compared to my previous Dojo, but am absolutely hyped to experience the journey to get to that point!
I was looking for a Martial Arts School for my boys (8 and 5 years old) so they could learn self-defense. I found this school and was intrigued by the Bullyproof Program and the 10-day free trial that they offer. The instructors are very patient and caring with the kids. I am in my 40's with no marital arts or self-defense experience and after seeing the teaching style and the focus on safety I decided to join the adult beginner's class. It has been awesome learning Jiu Jitsu with my boys. Jimi runs a great school, and the instructors and students are all very kind and welcoming.
I was looking for a jiu jitsu school for my son (6) and came across Gracie jiu jitsu Mesa. We got a trial class and my son fell in love with the classes and we enrolled him. The community this school has is amazing, after a week, I enrolled myself in the adults class and my son and I have been attending for over a year now. We have nothing but great things to say about the school, the instructors are truly amazing and share so much knowledge.
