RDLR to Single Leg X

Also known as: Reverse DLR Leg Entry · RDLR Ashi Entry

Convert the reverse DLR hook into a leg attack: elevate their lead leg, slide your hips underneath, and swap the hook for the single leg X configuration.

Transition · Gi & No-gi · Difficulty 3/5 · Usually learned at Blue belt

Starts from Reverse De La Riva as the rdlr player → lands in Single Leg X.

The details that make it work

  1. Lift with the RDLR hook while your outside foot pushes their far hip away.
  2. Hips travel UNDER their lifted leg; your outside leg wraps to their hip as the inside leg hooks.
  3. Pinch your knees on their trapped thigh before hunting the footlock or sweep.
