Kiss of the Dragon

Also known as: KOD · RDLR Back Take · Reverse DLR Spin-Under

The reverse De La Riva answer to the knee cut: spin underneath their legs through the gap, and come out behind them — the no-gi cousin of the berimbolo.

Back Take · Gi & No-gi · Difficulty 4/5 · Usually learned at Purple belt

Starts from Reverse De La Riva as the rdlr player → lands in Back Control.

The details that make it work

  1. Your RDLR hook lifts and turns their knee OUT as your body spins under their base, head toward their far foot.
  2. Grip their far ankle or heel during the spin so they cannot step over your line.
  3. Come out the back door to their hips: crab-ride or seatbelt before they sit through.
