Absolutely love the Axiom team! Everyone there is great, from the kids to the adults and the staff. Coach Derrick is an amazing coach and knows how to handle the children well. My three boys 7, 10 and 15 love BJJ and always look forward to getting to class. They’ve learned a lot from Coach Derrick as well as myself. My 15 year old and I always looks forward to practicing Judo. I’ve had the opportunity to train with Coach Derrick at a couple of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu gyms and can honestly say he’s one of the best teachers in Houston!
Axiom Jiu-Jitsu and MMA is a beautiful facility with a head coach that has extensive martial arts knowledge and training and is also an award winning movie director, writer, actor, producer, podcast writer and interviewer, etc. including the martial arts film Lion Killer! Coach Fury has crafted a family oriented facility with multiple goals: self defense, physical fitness, discipline, friendship and family, self betterment and respect for others. We couldn't recommend Axiom and Coach Fury more!
We came to Axiom about 5 months ago, and both my son and daughter truly enjoy the classes. They get a great workout every time and they are gaining so many skills in JiuJitsu. The coach is excellent and does a great job keeping the kids engaged and making this whole experience fun as well! I highly recommend if you are looking for a self defense class not only for kids but for adults as well!
I've been attending kickboxing classes at Axiom Jiu-Jitsu and MMA and I couldn't be happier with the results. I started at the middle July and my body is transforming for the better. I've seen significant positive changes in my fitness and my mental health. The class is physically challenging but also incredibly motivating and fun. I highly recommend this kickboxing class to anyone looking for an effective workout and a supportive instructor.
Coach Derrick is great with the kids and works with them on technique, and proper ways to train without injury. He discusses several topics with the kids while instilling discipline. He trains them hard, but at the sametime makes it fun, and implements games at the end of class the kids enjoy.
My daughter has been training at Axiom for a while now and she loves it! Coach Derrick has a great rapport with the kids, so he makes the training fun as well as functional. I have noticed significant changes in my daughter’s habits and situational awareness, and of course, physical fitness. We actually make the drive across town so that our daughter can attend classes at Axiom. With Houston heat and traffic, you KNOW that’s real praise!
