Wish I could give 10 stars for this gym. Myself, and a group of 8-10 BJJ people traveled from all over as far as Alaska to Australia to train together. When our original host gym fell through, Memento Combat Sports graciously allowed us to drop in to their classes and open mats for the weekend. The wrestling classes taught by Coach Bryan were a blast !!! He taught some details that were immediately applicable, and simple enough for beginners. Everyone that we encountered at Memento Combat Sports was welcoming, friendly, and had the best energy on the mats. The students were super tough and technical, it made for super fun and playful rolls :) Wish I lived closer to y’all so that I could visit more often!!! Thank you so much for everything.
I started my journey at Maryville jiu jitsu. Having never trained BJJ I had no clue what to expect. I did the free week trial and was hooked after that week not only because of the martial art itself but the coaching and the people at memento. It’s going on two and a half years now and I still feel the same way about this place as I did when I started. If you’re thinking about coming in and trying it quit thinking about it and act upon it. You will be in great hands. Memento has High level jiu jitsu with great people and clean facility.
I've been training at Memento Combat Sports since early June, and I'm consistently impressed. The atmosphere and culture here are outstanding; everyone is friendly and dedicated to helping each other improve. The coaches are phenomenal-they don't just show techniques, they really focus on the small details and "nuggets" that help you elevate your game. I've already seen a huge improvement in my skills in just a few months. Whether you're into Jiu-Jitsu, MMA, or kickboxing, this gym is a gem. The emphasis on wrestling is a huge plus and makes the training incredibly well-rounded.
Stopped in while on a trip to TN. They were gracious enough to allow our group of 10 to stop in and train. We did a wrestling class with Coach Bryan, which was absolutely amazing. Great information and very useful for first day participants all the way to advanced. every single person in that gym was so friendly and welcomed us with open arms and we had an absolute blast rolling with them. absolutely amazing facility, people and an unreal vibe! if you are ever in the area or are thinking about starting bjj you are doing yourself a disservice if you don't check this gym out!
My family started here in hopes of instilling confidence in my 8 yr. old son. Shortly after that, my daughter wanted to join as well, because, in her words, "I want to have fun too". My wife and I quickly found the people here to be some of the best around. Since then I have started classes and formed great friendships. If you are looking for discipline, inner perspective, challenges, goals, physical and mental fitness come here and let Joe Watson, Jonathan and Jenna Knight, along with coaches Clay, Garret and Josh show you the benefits of Brazilian Jiu Jitsu.
It’s not always common to find a Jiu jitsu instructor who is both a high level athlete, and a high level instructor, but Joseph Watson easily fills both of these rolls. If you’re looking for a place to call home and learn, or to simply stop in on your travels and get some good high level training in, in a safe and healthy environment, Memento is definitely that place.
