I am a Brazilian Jiu-Jitsu black belt based in Brasília. I had the opportunity to train at Lucas Lepri BJJ in Fort Mill and I cannot recommend it enough. The physical structure is absolutely incredible - spacious, clean, and with high-quality mats. I felt extremely welcomed by both instructors and students. With my experience of over +15 years of training, I noticed that what really sets this academy apart is their thoughtful approach to teaching. They offer classes for all ages, from children to elderly, but most importantly, they carefully divide classes by skill level. This ensures that beginners can learn the fundamentals at an appropriate pace, while advanced practitioners can continue to challenge themselves. Having trained with Professor Lucas and his team of professors including Professor Fred at the original academy, I was thrilled to be able to come train at the new Fort Mill location. The Lepri academies are absolutely top notch and I couldn’t recommend them enough for anyone looking to learn the art from the absolute best. The Fort Mill location is absolutely beautiful, has mats that are the best I’ve ever seen, has an incredible staff, and the best instruction out there. As a strength coach, combat Infantry veteran, and firearms instructor who takes fitness, safety, and self defense incredibly seriously, there’s no other group of Instructors I would rather train with. Fort Mill is incredibly lucky to have this Academy!
My family of 5 practice with the LL BJJ staff at fort mill regularly and love it! We have been training for almost 3 years and couldn’t imagine our lives without it. Beginning BJJ in my 30s after 3 kids was scary to say the least but the staff was incredibly welcoming and warm. Professor Fred Silva is an incredible teacher, and shares his love for the sport, community and family with his students. The dedication of the fort mill staff goes unmatched and I could not recommend this practice and studio more.
Driving home from work about 4 months ago, was pleased to see that a school run by a world class, BJJ champion/legend was opening literally walking distance from my home. The facility is tip top. 👌 Mats are always clean, not to mention cushioned for throws and takedowns. Staff is always friendly, helpful and personable. Not to mention, last and most importantly, the instruction from Fred Silva and Lepri himself is high level and extremely professional. 👏 For anyone looking to learn or even test out their interest in the Gentle Art? Highly recommend. (Also for those with young ones, the kids program is equally impressive!)
I’ve trained here for 7+ years now. Professor Fred is an amazing competitor, instructor and coach. The school is well-run and the facilities are first class. Tough training partners and a good, welcoming environment for students of all levels. I joined as a hobbyist and became more interested in competition as time went on, but no matter what my goals were, Fred, Lucas and the team have always supported me 100%. Love this place
