I recently moved into the area and was searching for a new Jiu Jitsu gym. As a long-time practitioner, I had certain expectations in mind, and Gilmar at 4 Jitz exceeded all of them. The gym is extremely clean, the environment is welcoming, and the community is made up of a great group of people. Gilmar’s teaching style is detailed, clear, and top-notch. Whether you’re looking to compete, improve your fitness, or just fall in love with the art of Jiu Jitsu, this is the place to be. I originally planned to shop around at different gyms when I moved, but after visiting 4 Jitz, I knew I didn’t need to look any further. I’ve found my new Jiu Jitsu home.
Joining 4 Jitz has been one of the best decisions I’ve ever made. As I approach my one-year anniversary, I only wish I had started sooner. I’ve always been a passionate fan of mixed martial arts, but I was hesitant to jump into training because of concerns about injury—especially given the physical demands of my job. That all changed when I met Professor Gilmar. He is the epitome of professionalism—an incredible instructor, an even better practitioner, and, above all, someone who truly cares about the well-being of his students. The training environment he fosters is not only safe, but welcoming and supportive. I never worry about getting hurt because I know Professor Gilmar always has our best interests at heart. From a health perspective, the results speak for themselves. My resting heart rate has dropped from the low 60s to the upper 40s, and my heart rate variability has significantly improved. My overall work capacity, cardiac outp
Awesome training environment! Super clean gym. Coach G is incredible to work with and does a great job of explaining subtle but important details. I was very hesitant to attend my first class since I didn’t have a martial arts background, but Coach G and everyone mad me feel right at home. Class size is relatively small so there is plenty of personal attention to every student. I’d highly recommend 4 jiu jitsu to anyone of any level!
I have traveled and trained all over the place and 4 Jitz is legit the professor is so talented and technical, the students will feed off the energy you bring and match you the best they can, everyone is super respectful and mat cleanliness is top notch! One thing I hate is in some places after being on the mats for a bit the bottom of my feet get dirty! That’s not the case here, so no matter you experience level come on and give them a try!
Exceptionally professional, exceptionally clean. I was amazed at the level of cleanliness… great for avoiding skin infections ubiquitous within combat sports. Morning classes are amazing. The only place, I am aware of on the Emerald Coast that offers them. So many classes offered throughout the week which cuts down on overcrowding and suitable for diverse schedules. Professor was kind and humble! Highly recommend.
It's a great gym to train Jiu-jitsu. Professor G is a great instructor, a place with a very friendly atmosphere. I really recommend 4 Jitz Bjj academy
