Drop-In Review My 3 teenage kids and I dropped in to two classes while in the area for a family vacation. This was our first experience at a Gracie Jiu Jitsu gym but not our first time dropping in on a new gym while on a vacation. That said, if I could, I would give Gracie Jiu Jitsu Indio 6 stars!. Josh, Nikki, and Cameron very welcoming. Not only did they seem genuinely excited to have us “randos” in classes, and make every attempt to ensure we felt welcomed, but they were also super attentive to our little group during the skill drilling. We have dropped-in at several gyms over the years while on family trips and we have had our fair share of lame experiences. At Gracie Jiu Jitsu Indio we experienced none of the negative things we have come to expect from unfamiliar gyms. The staff was super reasonable when they weren’t overly generous. I was initially hesitant to join the class because I was concerned about getting hurt and the risk of not being able to work. However, after observing how Cameron and Nikki conducted their sessions, I was truly impressed. I first signed up my 8-year-old son, followed by my daughter. I attended their classes and saw how safe the environment was. A month later, I decided to join, and I couldn't be happier. Cameron is an incredible instructor and a dedicated student of the art; his passion shines through in both his words and actions. His team, Nikki and Jake, are also fantastic. I couldn't have asked for a better place to learn Jiu-Jitsu. The best part is that if you're unsure about making a commitment, you can start with a free 10-day trial. I guarantee you'll want to join the Gracie family after that. I highly recommend this place in the Coachella Valley for anyone interested in Jiu-Jitsu.
I can’t express enough how grateful I am for Gracie Jiu-Jitsu and the incredible team here. My son has never been so inspired, engaged, and genuinely excited about something before. Cameron and the team are incredible instructors. They work with all levels of athlete from beginner to advanced. Cameron is truly gifted at working with kids that might struggle in other situations. He is kind and compassionate with the goal of being inclusive while also making kids feel like they can do anything. The goal of the bullyproof classes is to teach something bigger while the kids learn the fundamentals of Jiu Jitsu. Training at Gracie is about more than just picking up the skills of a martial art - you become part of the Gracie family.
I started taking classes at Gracie Jiu-Jitsu, Indio a few months ago. As a first time student I was super nervous and intimidated going in. I had tried another spot prior to contacting Gracie and it felt so sterile, strict and uncomfortable. Thank goodness I didn’t give up my search there! After reading other positive reviews I reached out to the team at Gracie regarding the Women Empowered program. Nikki was quick to respond, very informative and super friendly. Immediately upon walking into the studio I felt welcomed. Cameron has an amazing way of keeping things light and comical while emphasizing the importance of the techniques being taught. All the instructors are very kind, warm and full of knowledge. I absolutely love it, look forward to class every week , and plan to continue.
