Never would I have imagined that one day my son and I would be training in Jiu Jitsu! Gracie Barra Corona has been a truly transformative place for my family. Since day one Professor Andy and all of the incredible coaches have been welcoming and supportive. Dedicating their time, experience, and passion for the art of jiu jitsu into each student and class. The energy here is truly unmatched- especially in the kid's classes, where they are building strong, confident, and empowered leaders. GBC has built a community, where everyone is welcome!
Gracie Barra Corona has been an incredible experience for our family, especially for our son Jovian. The coaches — Coach Christian, Coach Chris, Coach Cecilia, and Professor Andy — have all played such a big role in helping him grow not just in skill, but in confidence. They are incredibly attentive to the students and always take the time to correct technique, give encouragement, and push just the right amount to help each student improve. We’ve seen Jovian develop so much, both on and off the mat, and it’s thanks to the dedication and support of this amazing coaching team. They’ve gone above and beyond to help him prepare for competition, and their belief in him has truly helped build his confidence. You can really feel that they care about each student as a whole person, not just as an athlete. Being a beginner in jiu jitsu felt very overwhelming and so intimidating before stepping into Gracie Corona. The vibe, coaches & professors are top notch and so welcoming. Coach Chris reassured me over the phone before my first class that there was nothing to worry about and he was definitely right. Being about a month in, I feel like I am forming a new family and am so so excited to come back each time. I look forward to each class and can’t wait to build on the solid foundation that they are building for me and everyone else. Don’t hesitate to come try it out!! You won’t regret it!
There is so much to say about this gym. The respectful culture, humility in training, honest constructive feedback, and ability to harnest an authentic community that provides an opportunity for meaningful relationships and connections. Professor Andy, Coach Christian, and Coach Chris are amazing with kids in all levels. Even when life happens, they check-in when you return and make sure things are ok with everyone at home. Our young boys were new to the sport and the instructors provided concise, clear, and safe demonstrations to ease them into the art. Their human approach provides a no-pressure zone for all on leveling up on skills or competing. Winning is the lowest priority. Safety definitely comes first. I highly recommend this gym, but be careful, they treat you just like family and know everyones names including all parents, grandparents, and babies; you will get attached to the people there. That is how amazing they all are.
I truly can’t say enough good things about this place! The facility is clean, organized, and well-maintained—but what really sets it apart are the coaches. A++ across the board. As a parent, entrusting your child to someone else is never easy, but every single coach here has made that transition feel safe, welcoming, and fun. It’s clear they genuinely love what they do, and that passion shows in how they connect with the kids. I’ve been bringing my two little ones for a few months now, and we are always greeted with warm smiles and high-fives. My son started at a different Jiu Jitsu gym before we were referred by a friend to try Gracie Barra. It was like night and day. At Gracie Barra they have several coaches on the mat helping correct the students form. At our previous gym kids were running around and basically wasting time. Every coach here makes all the kids feel welcome and like they belong. My son learns jiu jitsu, discipline but also has fun at Gracie Barra. I highly recommend Gracie Barra Corona.
