The details that make it work
Catch their crossing wrist and feed it to your other hand BEHIND their head, hugging it tight.
Their trapped arm blocks their own defense; step your leg over into technical mount and slide to the back.
You arrive with the seatbelt pre-built — the choke hand is already inside.
Where it goes wrong
Holding the gift wrap loose at the wrist only; hug at the elbow line or they wriggle free.
How opponents counter it
Never let the wrist cross the center line under mount
Straighten the arm forcefully before the step-over
