Seven world titles, and nobody beat him after 2008

Roger came through his father Mauricio Gomes and the Rolls Gracie branch of the family, and Carlos Gracie Jr. gave him his black belt in 2003. Inside two years he had a World title and ADCC gold.

His record between 2003 and 2010 is the most concentrated run in the sport's history. Seven IBJJF World Championship golds in 2004, 2005, 2006, 2007, 2008, 2009 and 2010. His gi record across our data is 61-6. Then the losses stop entirely. The last man to beat him was Alexandre Ribeiro, on points at the 2008 Worlds.
